How to use a leaf blower?
Here’s how to use a leaf blower. Also called a leaf vacuum, this tool allows you to group all the leaves in your garden in the same place and make it easier for you to collect them.
Whether you prefer a simple leaf blower model or a mulcher blower that eliminates waste, you have a clean and well-maintained garden.
Use your leaf vacuum properly
The first thing to do is to read the instructions for use provided by the manufacturer. This seems logical but when you buy a shredder vacuum cleaner, the excitement of the purchase often makes you want to have fun with your equipment before reading the manual.
THE leaf blowers today are actually so ergonomic, practical, and easy to use that we forget the basic precautions.
If your leaf blower is gasoline powered, find out the right fuel blends first. Putting the wrong fuel could quickly damage your device.
Once you have understood the manual, connect the tube through which the exhaled air will exit. A simple clip is enough on several models.
Then attach the waste collection bag. On blower-shredder models, this is where the detritus shredded by the leaf shredder vacuum cleaner will be deposited. Practical to permanently eliminate all those little twigs that are difficult to pick up.
Most models of leaf blowers have an adjustable strap to your waist, this strap allows you to transport the device without tiring. Don’t hesitate to try different positions to be as comfortable as possible with your blower/shredder.
If you use an electric leaf vacuum, make sure you have a cable long enough not to get in your way.
Start using your leaf blower
Having followed the getting started steps, it’s time to get started and finally have fun with your leaf blower!
The paper tray is empty, turn the power button on the device. Start at low power to familiarize yourself with how the vacuum cleaner works. Increase power as you use it.
Leaves are easier to collect when they are dry and clumped together. You will quickly understand what gestures to use; scanning with your arms quickly becomes intuitive.
Remember to keep an eye on the leaf filler bag, don’t let it get overloaded, the leaf blower would become less effective. Even blower-mulcher models need to be emptied regularly. Current models have large storage capacities, which means you don’t have to waste too much time going back and forth between the garden and the trash can.
Once the bag is full, turn off the device by turning the power button to the “off” position, unplug the vacuum cleaner leaf blower and unclip the bag so you can empty it.
